This new facility will be the “launch pad” for Kinetic’s future electric vehicles.
Kinetic Energy’s subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts, inaugurated its brand new manufacturing facility in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. It spans over 87,000 sq.ft and has been designed with future ready technologies, which includes precision assembly lines and advanced automation. The plant will also implement “sustainable practices to enable high-quality scalable production” and will be the “launchpad” for all of Kinetic’s future electric vehicles. All manufacturing processes in this plant will be robotics-driven and in due time will also evolve as per market demands.
This is the second manufacturing facility that the Kinetic Group established this year. The conglomerate had established its first battery manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad earlier this year. While the battery plant reserves the capacity to manufacture 60,000 LFP and NMC batteries annually, Kinetic Watts And Volts has not revealed the production capacity of the new plant yet.
“This facility represents our commitment to shaping the future of mobility with world-class manufacturing excellence. It’s a proud moment for Kinetic Watts and Volts and for the entire Kinetic Group as we set the stage for a new era of innovation, sustainability, and electric mobility from India,” said Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic Group.
This new plant will be very crucial in Kinetic Group’s ambitious plan to hit a revenue target of ₹1,000 crore by 2029. As part of this requirement, this facility will manufacture electric vehicles for both personal and fleet operations. At the same time, the company is also working on exporting vehicles from this very plant, however nothing conclusive has not been revealed as of yet.
