The refreshed model is expected to hit the market in the first half of 2025.
Kia showcased the updated 2025 EV6 at the Los Angeles International Auto Show with a series of design, technology, and performance upgrades aimed at bolstering its appeal in the competitive EV and crossover utility vehicle (CUV) segments. The 2025 EV6 integrates updated front and rear designs that align with Kia’s "Star Map" lighting motif, giving the vehicle a high-tech and dynamic aesthetic. A revised front bumper with sharper angles and extended character lines adds a sportier look, while the rear design mirrors the front with a wing-like bumper and three-dimensional taillights. New wheel designs, available in sizes from 19 to 21 inches, complement these changes.
Inside, the cabin adopts a horizontal design theme with a focus on a spacious, driver-centric layout. A dual 12.3-inch curved display seamlessly combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Inspired by the EV9, the interior also features updated lighting elements, a redesigned centre console, and a sporty D-shaped steering wheel.
Kia has expanded the EV6’s performance options, introducing larger battery choices to cater to consumer demand for improved range. The standard 63.0 kWh battery produces 165 bhp with 350 Nm of torque, while the optional 84.0 kWh battery delivers an estimated range of 513 km for select trims. This configuration powers a rear motor generating 222 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.
For those seeking higher performance, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version combines dual motors to achieve 316 bhp and 605 Nm of torque. The top-tier EV6 GT trim boasts a staggering 632 bhp and 770 Nm of torque in GT mode, supported by a new Virtual Gear Shift feature that enhances the driving experience with simulated gear changes.
The EV6’s connectivity has been enhanced with Kia’s next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) operating system, offering faster processing and over-the-air (OTA) updates for software and driver assistance features. A new Kia Connect Store provides access to digital services like video streaming, gaming, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Additionally, the 2025 EV6 introduces the Digital Key 2.0 system, enabling drivers to use compatible smartphones or NFC-enabled cards as virtual keys, along with features like key sharing via text. The vehicle also offers enhanced parking assistance systems, including Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 and collision avoidance technologies.
To meet stricter safety standards, Kia reinforced the EV6’s frame and added sound-absorbing materials to enhance cabin quietness. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have been expanded, with features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 and Highway Driving Assist 2 providing enhanced functionality.
The 2025 Kia EV6 will be assembled at the Kia Georgia plant alongside the EV9 and is set to be available in various trims—Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT. The refreshed model is expected to hit the market in the first half of 2025.
