The fleet will be leased and supported by Enetra EV Private Limited under its electric bus leasing programme to enable large-scale adoption of zero-emission transport.
LeafyBus has partnered with Eicher Trucks & Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), to deploy 100 Skyline Pro E 13.5-metre electric intercity sleeper buses across key national routes. The initiative is aimed at accelerating clean mobility in long-haul passenger transport and reducing dependence on diesel-powered buses.
As part of the rollout plan, 35 electric buses will be deployed by March 31, 2026, with operations starting on high-demand corridors such as Delhi–Dehradun and Delhi–Lucknow, alongside several upcoming intercity routes. The remaining buses will be introduced in phases over the next 18 months as LeafyBus expands its nationwide electric mobility network.
The fleet will be leased and enabled by Enetra EV Private Limited, whose electric bus leasing programme is designed to support large-scale adoption of zero-emission transport. The partnership brings together LeafyBus’ operational experience in intercity EV travel, Eicher’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities, and Enetra EV’s financing and leasing solutions to create a scalable electric bus ecosystem.

This collaboration also marks a significant step for the Volvo–Eicher joint venture as it enters the intercity electric bus segment in India. Teams from LeafyBus and Eicher Trucks & Buses are jointly working on route planning, charging infrastructure design, uptime solutions and operational support to ensure reliable and comfortable long-distance electric travel for passengers.

Speaking on this development, Rohan Dewan, Co-Founder of LeafyBus, said, “The industry is moving toward cleaner mobility, but the real progress comes when EV travel is not experimental - it is consistent, commercially viable and widely accessible. With these new buses and our expanding charging ecosystem, we are accelerating the rollout of a national electric network that delivers a simple, comfortable and future-ready travel experience for millions.”
Designed for efficiency and passenger comfort, the Skyline Pro E 13.5m electric sleeper bus features a 36+D sleeper layout with upper and lower berths. The bus is powered by a 400 kWh LFP battery paired with a 235 kW permanent magnet motor, and is equipped with front and rear air suspension, advanced braking systems, and energy-efficient technologies to optimise range and safety during intercity operations.
LeafyBus currently operates daily electric services on the Delhi–Dehradun route and plans to expand rapidly across India. Backed by USD 4.1 million in funding from Enetra India Pvt. Ltd., the company intends to invest in fleet expansion, charging infrastructure and new route development, with a goal of launching at least one new electric intercity corridor every month as part of its national growth strategy.
