Carbon is definitely the element with the most obsession. For many it is diamonds, for others carbon fibre. It is the latter this time round as Japan’s Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade gets a special dark version called the Carbon. It is limited to only 300 units and will mostly be allocated for the European markets, primarily UK and France.
The use of carbon is generous on this special edition ’Blade. Both of the fenders, entirety of the fairing, the aero-optimised winglets and the airbox cover have all been given the carbon treatment. Furthermore, to highlight its racing pedigree that has earned it the title of the most successful MotoGP manufacturer, there is the HRC logo, located right above the winglets. There’s a special little badge that bears the serial number of the limited run too.
And the differences with the standard bike end there. The same inline four pot litre-class mill that makes north of 200 horses continues to power the Fireblade. It is housed in the same twin-spar frame with top spec Ohlins suspension, Brembo Stylema R braking hardware and Pirelli Supercorsa rubber making their way over here too.
Honda had selectively brought a handful of units of the latest-gen litre-class Ceeber to India but at astronomical asking prices. And there’s very little scope of the bike again being available as it is off the listing on the website and might just only be called on order basis.
