The Fronx is available only with the 1.5-litre Mild Hybrid engine in Mexico
The Made-In-India Maruti Suzuki Fronx has been launched in Mexico. The Fronx was launched in India in April this year after it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Exports for the car began in July this year with the targeted markets being, Latin America, Middle East and Africa.
The Fronx in Mexico costs 4,29,990 Mexican Peso (Rs. 21 lakh approximately) and comes with only a 1.5-litre Mild Hybrid petrol engine. In India, we also get the 1-litre boosterjet engine. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine produces 105 horses and has good amount of torque on offer too. It is made available only with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Fronx in Mexico continues to get 16-inch alloy wheels and also gets 6 airbags. Features like 360-degree camera, 9-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay, Android Auto connectivity have been carried forward from the India version. The Fronx for Mexico delivers a fuel efficiency figure of 20.9 kmpl.
The Fronx with the turbocharged motor is not exported to other countries yet. Currently in India, the turbo engine variant accounts for 13% of the overall sales of the Fronx. The company has been selling over 10000 units of the Fronx every month, since the launch of the car in April and it has been one of the top 5 selling SUVs in the country in 2023.
