The company now allows customers to opt out of the previously mandatory charger and installation service.
Mahindra has updated its charging policy for electric SUVs, allowing customers the option to forgo the previously mandatory purchase of company-certified chargers and installation services. While Mahindra continues to recommend its own chargers for safety and efficiency, customers now have the flexibility to choose third-party charging solutions in specific cases.
Initially, Mahindra required buyers to purchase its certified chargers along with their EVs, ensuring compatibility and safety. However, based on customer feedback advocating for more flexibility, the company has revised this policy. The change aligns Mahindra with broader industry trends, where most automakers allow third-party charging options while still recommending their proprietary solutions.
The updated policy gives consumers more control over their charging infrastructure, allowing them to select options that best suit their needs and budget. While Mahindra continues to emphasise the benefits of its certified chargers, customers are no longer required to purchase them.
