Mahindra has assured that it will fully support the administration in investigating the incident.

A few days back, a video of a group of travellers stranded inside the ecologically sensitive and fragile Zone-8 of Ranthambore National Park went viral. In the video a bunch of Mahindra Thars and Scorpion N SUVs were seen parked inside by, what seemed like regular people on a family trip. The video was circulated widely, stating that forest officials had seized the SUVs of all who had entered Zone 8, and that served as evidence to take action against officials who had greenlighted the whole trip as well. As you can check from the video below:

Besides the fact that all SUVs spotted here were from Mahindra, what made it all the worse was the fact all vehicles had the sticker of “Mahindra Adventures” on the tailgates. Thus, raising questions as to how an OEM could lead this to happen. However, after a day, Mahindra Adventures took to social media and denounced its association with the troop. It further added that the event was “organised by a third party who uses Mahindra vehicles” for the activity. You can check the response below:

As reckless as this seemed, the fact that such an irresponsible tour was conducted under the brand name Mahindra raises a few questions about how the organisers got the permission. Usually, for such adventure trips, the route is always known well before hand. Additionally, mandatory permissions are needed to travel on this dedicated route. So, who gave the permission and to what ends is the matter of investigation here.
