The eagerly awaited Mahindra Thar 5-door is set to be officially unveiled in its production-ready form on August 15 at Mahindra's UK facility. This date aligns with Mahindra's tradition of launching new products on India's Independence Day. Pricing details will follow a few weeks after the reveal.

The 2024 Thar 5-door will feature a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels, a rear wiper and washer, and a modern 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system derived from the recently launched XUV 3XO. Unlike its three-door counterpart, which offers a convertible-top option, the 5-door variant will be available exclusively with a hard-top body style.

To distinguish itself from the smaller three-door model, the Thar 5-door will boast a new grille, a larger wheelbase, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and LED taillights. Inside, the SUV is expected to come equipped with a single-pane sunroof, rear AC vents, a fully digital instrument cluster, an engine start-stop button, cruise control, and automatic climate control. An Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite might also be available.
Under the hood, the Thar 5-door will likely offer a choice between a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. Both engines will be paired with 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions.
