The BE.05 is expected to launch in early 2025, with the XUV.e9 to follow soon.

Mahindra is extensively testing its new-age electric SUVs which will be sold under two sub-brand names – XUV.e and BE. These two sub-brands will have a total of five new models and Mahindra had already shown them as concepts in 2022. Now, two models, the XUV.e9 and the BE.05 have been spotted testing in Kerala.

While Mahindra had earlier stated that the XUV.e8 would be the first to arrive sometime in late 2024, it seems the BE.05 and the XUV.e9 will be the first ones to arrive. According to reports, the BE.05 will arrive sometime in early 2025, with the XUV.e9 following suit a couple of months later.

Mahindra XUV.e9 Front.jpgThe latest test mules of the XUV.e9 and BE.05 indicate that the two electric SUVs are ready for production. Even though both were covered with heavy camouflage, the design doesn’t seem to deviate much from the concepts. However, both will get full-size ORVMs and not the slim ones shown in the concept.

Mahindra-XUV.e9-rear.jpgOnly the XUV.e9’s front was visible in the spy shots, hinting that it will have the same headlamp cluster design as the concept. It will have vertical headlamps in a triangular cluster along with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs that are connected by a light bar. The XUV.e9 is essentially a coupe SUV version of the XUV700 and looks fairly similar to its ICE cousin till the B-pillar.

Mahindra BE.05 rear.jpgThe rear of the BE.05 was the only visible angle, but it shows that the production version will continue to get the twin-pod spoiler as seen in the concept. Only a part of the taillamp cluster was lit up but it hints that the taillamp design won’t deviate much.

Both are likely to get rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations as both are based on the INGLO platform.
