Man Arrested For Running Fake Embassy, Vehicles With Diplomatic Plates Seized

Ghaziabad police have arrested a man, Harshvardhan Jain, for allegedly operating a fake embassy from a rented house in Kavi Nagar.

The accused claimed to represent several micronations, including Westarctica, Saborga, Poulvia, and Lodonia, and used diplomatic number plates on his vehicles.

According to UP Police, Jain engaged in illegal activities including brokering deals for overseas employment and running a hawala racket through shell companies. Investigations revealed he had also morphed photographs with prominent figures, including the Prime Minister and the President.

Police discovered a history of illicit activity, with Jain previously found in possession of illegal satellite phones in 2011. Further investigation linked him to individuals such as Chandraswami and international arms dealer Adnan Khagoshi.

During a raid conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) Noida unit, authorities seized over ₹44 lakh in cash, foreign currency, four vehicles with diplomatic number plates, 18 diplomatic number plates, 12 diplomatic passports from micronations, forged documents bearing the Ministry of External Affairs seal, and numerous fake seals and press cards.

A case has been registered at the Kavi Nagar police station, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
