Maruti Suzuki India Announces Price Reduction For AGS Models

Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price reduction for its Auto Gear Shift (AGS) lineup, effective immediately. In a filing with stock exchanges, the company confirmed that prices for several AGS variants across its popular models will be reduced by ₹5,000. This price slash includes models from both the Arena and Nexa channels.

The models benefiting from this price cut include the Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, Wagon-R, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Fronx, and Ignis. This strategic move aims to make AGS variants more affordable for customers, potentially boosting sales in a highly competitive market.

Maruti Suzuki did not specify the reasons behind the price reduction in its official statement. However, the company emphasized its commitment to making AGS variants more accessible to a broader customer base.

AGS technology, a hallmark of Maruti Suzuki’s engineering, is designed to enhance driving comfort by automating gear shifts. The components are integrated into the car's transmission unit, ensuring synchronised clutch control and smoother gear transitions. This not only improves driving performance but also contributes to better fuel efficiency.

By reducing the prices, Maruti Suzuki aims to attract more customers to its AGS models, thereby increasing market penetration and reinforcing its position in the automobile sector.
