Maruti Suzuki will announce the price of its first mass‑market electric SUV, the eVitara, in India today, marking its formal entry into the battery‑powered car segment. The model was first shown in production form at the 2025 Auto Expo and has taken several months to reach the market after that public debut. The company is expected to position the eVitara in the midsize electric SUV segment against models from Tata, Hyundai, MG and Mahindra.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara could be priced in the range of around ₹18 lakh to ₹24 lakh, ex‑showroom, depending on the variant but pricing it between ₹17 lakh and ₹22 lakh, would see the company getting aggressive about positioning the car when compared to the Nexon EV, Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra BE6, MG Windsor, Hyundai Creta among others. The final price announcement today will show how Maruti Suzuki plans to balance costs, range and equipment against other electric SUVs on sale.

The eVitara was unveiled at Auto Expo 2025 as Maruti Suzuki’s first all‑electric model based on a dedicated EV platform, and the company then confirmed a market launch timeline for early 2026. Alongside the product, Maruti Suzuki has been preparing an EV ecosystem across the country through a branded charging network and partnerships. The carmaker says it has set up over 2,000 Maruti Suzuki exclusive charging points across more than 1,100 cities, linked to its sales and service outlets. It has also signed agreements with 13 charge point operators to give access to a wider public charging pool and has announced a long‑term plan to support a network of up to 1 lakh charging points by 2030 in collaboration with partners.
For buyers, the eVitara price will be key to deciding whether to shift from petrol and diesel SUVs to an electric option within the Maruti Suzuki network. The company is expected to share variant‑wise prices, range figures and charging details later today, which will also indicate how aggressively it wants to grow in the domestic EV space.
