Maruti Suzuki has announced the Aurum Edition of its Victoris compact SUV on the occasion of the first anniversary of its launch in India. This is actually a cosmetic accessory kit that can be installed to give the car a somewhat distinct appearance, and is being made available only for strong hybrid variants. Priced at ₹22,900 over and above the price of each eligible Victoris variant, the kit adds copper-coloured and chrome exterior styling elements along with a few accessories for the interior.
The Aurum Edition kit includes copper-coloured front, side, and rear skid plates as well as garnishes for all wheel arches. There are also new chrome garnishes for the front grille, front and rear bumpers, and fenders. There’s chrome side body moulding, and dark chrome door visors. Finally, buyers get all-weather floor mats, a 3D boot mat, and a rear trunk sill guard.
The Victoris has proven to be a hit for Maruti Suzuki, with nearly 1.5 lakh units sold in the year since its launch. The company has claimed that it set new records in India for passenger vehicle sales, reaching the 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh unit sales marks. Maruti Suzuki launched the Victoris through its mass-market Arena dealer network to help reach a much wider audience than the Grand Vitara sold through more premium Nexa dealerships, even though the two models are very similar. The Victoris has also been popular thanks to its modern styling and features, as well as its sporty yet practical design and performance.
Nothing else about the Victoris changes with the addition of this kit. Strong Hybrid variants are currently priced between ₹16.43 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
