In a significant move, Maruti Suzuki has announced that six airbags across four of its high-volume models: Wagon R, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco, are now standard. The six-airbag configuration comprises dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags—delivering all-around crash protection. This update brings these budget-friendly offerings in line with other Arena models like the Swift, Dzire, and Brezza, which already feature this safety enhancement. Prices for all the models remain unchanged.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “We at Maruti Suzuki are committed to staying ahead of evolving customer expectations and making high-end safety accessible. With the decision to make 6 airbags standard in the Wagon R, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco, we are ensuring that enhanced safety is available for all.”
Beyond airbags, these models will continue to offer an extensive suite of active and passive safety technologies. These include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and three-point seat belts with pre-tensioners and seatbelt reminders for all seating positions.
