McLaren is mulling to cut prices across its India portfolio by nearly 38 per cent, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans. The move makes it the first supercar brand to follow Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in factoring in anticipated benefits from the proposed India-UK free trade agreement.
Under the planned revisions, the McLaren 750S coupe could be priced at ₹4.94 crore, down from around ₹7.94 crore. The 750S Spider is expected to see its price reduced to ₹5.46 crore from ₹8.78 crore, while the McLaren GTS may be priced at ₹3.83 crore, compared with ₹6.15 crore earlier.
The reductions range between approximately ₹2.3 crore and ₹3.3 crore per model.
The company has not officially confirmed these figures.
The McLaren Artura will not see any price adjustment, as hybrid vehicles are not eligible for duty benefits under the agreement during the initial five-year period.
The expected reduction in duties is linked to the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which proposes to lower customs duty on British petrol cars with engines above 3,000cc and diesel cars above 2,500cc from 110 per cent to 30 per cent in the first year, before tapering to 10 per cent over five years, subject to annual import quotas. Both the 750S and GTS are powered by 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engines, placing them within this category.
The development follows action by JLR, which in May reduced prices of the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV by ₹75 lakh and ₹40 lakh, respectively, translating to cuts of around 15–18 per cent. McLaren’s proposed reductions are significantly steeper in comparison.
McLaren entered the Indian market in 2021 and opened its first showroom in Mumbai in late 2022 through importer Infinity Cars. Its local portfolio includes the 750S coupe and Spider, the Artura, and the GTS. The company had delivered around 50 units in India by early 2025.
