MeitY is extending an open invitation through Expressions of Interest (EOI) to individuals and organisations passionate about advancing responsible AI development. The goal is to collaboratively build indigenous tools and self-assessment frameworks that can serve as global benchmarks for ethical AI implementation.
The proposal focuses on critical areas of AI governance, with a particular emphasis on deepfake detection and content authentication. MeitY is targeting the creation of advanced tools capable of real-time identification of deepfake content, implementing robust watermarking and labelling mechanisms, and ensuring traceability and security of AI-generated materials.
The initiative seeks frameworks to develop comprehensive risk assessment tools, create stress-testing mechanisms for AI models, and identify potential vulnerabilities in critical AI applications. These efforts aim to enhance trust and reliability in artificial intelligence technologies across various sectors.
The proposal is in line with international best practices, focusing on developing AI technologies that respect fundamental human values, promote fairness and accountability, and mitigate potential harmful AI practices.
