Mercedes-Benz has launched a special edition of the AMG GLE 53 Coupe. Called the Performance Edition, this limited-run model of the performance SUV is priced at ₹1.52 crore (ex-showroom). This translates to a ₹7 lakh premium over the standard AMG GLE Coupe that costs Rs 1.45 crore (ex-showroom). It comes to India as a fully-imported CBU model.
For the Performance Edition, Mercedes has added AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard over the regular AMG GLE 53 Coupe. This package consists of several add-ons such as active roll stabilisation, an improved braking system with ventilated and perforated brake discs, red brake calipers and 22-inch alloy wheels finished in black.
Further, this special model comes equipped with an AMG Track Pace app for live on-track telemetry data and a new AMG Performance steering wheel with leatherette upholstery. On the visual front, the side steps are a notable addition. The Performance Edition rolls on 22-inch AMG cross-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in matt black with high-sheen rim flange. Apart from the changes mentioned above, the Performance Edition is identical to the standard version of the AMG GLE 53 Coupe.

Most of the features offered in the Performance Edition have been retained from the standard model. This includes twin 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster, along with a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and four-zone climate control. The car also comes with powered front seats that offer ventilation, heating, and memory functions. Rounding things off is a 13-speaker Burmester audio system.
Powering the AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition is the same 3-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine that develops a mammoth 430 bhp and 520 Nm of peak torque. This motor is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. As for performance, this sportier derivative of the luxury SUV can clock a top speed of 250 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds.
