Mercedes-Benz India is launching the AMG GT Coupe in India on June 27. The AMG GT Coupe will come in two variants – GT 63 and GT 63 Pro. This will be the fourth launch for Mercedes-Benz India in 2025, and like all others before it, the GT Coupe will also be an expensive model to come to India.
Both the GT Coupe models are powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which is now staple in many AMG models. In the GT 63, it produces 576 bhp and 800 Nm, and in the GT 63 Pro, it produces 603 bhp and 850 Nm. The GT 63 and GT 63 Pro can propel themselves from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds but the Pro is 0.5 seconds quicker in the 0-200 kmph run (taking 10.9 seconds). The GT 63 has a top speed of 315 kmph, while the GT 63 Pro has a top speed of 317 kmph.
The GT Coupe is a 2+2 seater, providing ample space for the rear. It also has a vertically-oriented 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system and a virtual cluster. The interior is quite similar to the SL 55 AMG that was launched in India in 2023.
For aerodynamics, the GT Coupe comes with a lot of enhancements. The GT 63 has large air intakes and diffuser in the front and rear bumpers, while in the GT 63 Pro, they’re even larger. Both get a fixed rear wing too. All of the aerodynamic enhancements in the GT 63 Pro help it reduce aerodynamic lift on the front by 30 kg and on the rear by 15 kg.
