Mercedes-Benz has introduced its first major mid-cycle update for the fifth-generation C-Class, featuring S-Class-inspired exterior styling, upgraded Euro 7-compliant powertrains, and more.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a comprehensive mid-cycle facelift for the fifth-generation C-Class sedan and wagon, marking the first substantial update to the model line since its global debut in 2021.
Every powertrain across the updated range includes a 48V mild-hybrid setup with a new integrated starter generator delivering a temporary boost of up to 23 bhp and 205 Nm, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard.
The petrol range relies on a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine equipped with an electric auxiliary compressor to eliminate turbo lag. It comes in three output levels: 175 bhp and 270 Nm in the C 200, 215 bhp and 320 Nm in the C 250, and 254 bhp and 400 Nm in the C 300.

The diesel lineup uses an updated 2.0-litre four-cylinder motor producing 161 bhp in the C 200d and 197 bhp in the C 250d, both compatible with HVO100, B10, and B20 biofuels. Plug-in hybrid variants pair the petrol engine with a 19.53 kWh battery pack and electric motor to generate a net output of up to 390 bhp and 650 Nm, offering up to 100 km of electric-only range.
Handling performance has been tweaked with a stiffer suspension setup and revised damping designed to reduce body roll and improve steering precision. An optional rear-axle steering system can turn the rear wheels by up to 2.5 degrees to enhance manoeuvrability and stability.

Visually, the front fascia incorporates reshaped LED headlights with three-pointed-star daytime running lights, a larger grille with chrome star patterns, and a revised front bumper. Additional updates include cameras embedded in the wing mirrors, puddle lamp logo projectors, fresh 17-inch to 19-inch alloy wheel designs, updated tail-lamp graphics, and two new paint options.
Inside, the cabin layout retains its 12.3-inch digital display and 11.9-inch central touchscreen running MB.OS software with AI integration. Drivers get a new flat-bottomed steering wheel, new upholstery shades, Level 2 ADAS, and improved cabin sound insulation.
The facelifted C-Class is definitely India-bound, although the exact time frame remains to be seen. Recently, the S-Class facelift was launched in India in its plug-in hybrid avatar.
