Bengaluru-based electric bike startup Simple Energy has teased the launch of its next model, which is expected to be a family scooter. The new scooter, rumoured to be called the Simple Arrive, will be unveiled on September 2. As per leaks and regulatory filings spotted over the past few months, this model is likely to go up against the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak family, TVS iQube series, and Vida VX2 at around the ₹1–1.5 lakh price point.
The company’s current lineup includes the Simple One, OneS, and Ultra, all of which are priced considerably higher, between ₹1,80,000 and ₹2,35,000. The upcoming launch will mark Simple Energy’s entry into the mass market, with a much wider potential base of buyers.
The new model will have a simpler, more conventional design than its high-performance siblings. It is expected to be long enough to seat two adults comfortably, with a flat floorboard. It should also have a digital TFT screen and generous storage. The designs registered earlier this year with the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks in India show split LED headlamps and a DRL on the front apron, and turn indicators integrated into the cowl. A pillion backrest and a split grab rail.
Specifications and variants are unknown at this point, but the company is likely to prioritise range and fast charging along with comfort and practicality. The teaser promises “something built for a new kind of electric mobility”.
The company could use its rare-earth-free electric motor, developed last year amid a global supply chain crisis.
