The recall affects 30 units of the S-Class, Maybach S-Class, AMG SL, GLC and EQS.
Mercedes-Benz India has issued a recall for five of its models. The recall affects 30 units, which include the S-Class, Maybach S-Class, AMG SL, GLC and EQS. Mercedes-Benz India is recalling these cars for a faulty fuse box. Mercedes-Benz India said it will reach out to the customers of the affected cars, and the issues will be fixed free of charge.
In a recall filing on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) website, Mercedes-Benz said the cars have fuse boxes that might not have been reworked correctly. It said that this could lead to the systems that are connected to the fuse to fail, causing the vehicle to lose propulsion. It could also lead to the restraint functions and instrument cluster to also malfunction, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Mercedes-Benz also said that the possibility of a “thermal incident” (i.e. risk of the cars catching fire) cannot be ruled out.
