Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the fully electric CLA Shooting Brake, marking a significant expansion of its EQ electric vehicle portfolio. This sleek and functional estate variant follows the debut of the next-generation CLA sedan, with its European rollout scheduled to commence in March 2026. While the CLA sedan is expected to arrive in India later this year, there is currently no confirmation on the electric CLA Shooting Brake's introduction to the Indian market.

The electric CLA Shooting Brake offers a generous luggage capacity of up to 1,290 litres with the rear seats folded (455 litres with seats upright) and an additional 101-litre front trunk, providing ample space for diverse needs. Its robust design is further highlighted by roof rails capable of supporting up to 75 kg and a braked towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg, making it ideal for hauling bikes, luggage pods, trailers, caravans, or even jet skis.
At launch, two compelling variants will be available: the CLA 250+ Shooting Brake and the more potent dual-motor CLA 350 4Matic. The CLA 250+ delivers a robust 268 bhp and an impressive WLTP-certified range of up to 761 km, positioning it among the longest-range electric vehicles in its segment. The all-wheel-drive CLA 350 4Matic, with 349 bhp, still achieves an admirable 730 km of range. Both models are equipped with an 85 kWh battery pack and an 800V electrical architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging capabilities. Mercedes-Benz claims a recharge of up to 310 km in just 10 minutes for the CLA 250+ and 300 km for the CLA 350 4Matic variant.

In terms of performance, the CLA 250+ accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in a brisk 6.8 seconds, while the CLA 350 4Matic achieves the sprint in a mere 5 seconds. Both variants are electronically limited to a top speed of 210 kmph. The innovative energy recuperation system under braking is rated up to 200kW, contributing to enhanced efficiency without compromising driving comfort.
The cabin of the electric CLA Shooting Brake is designed to cater to digitally-native drivers and passengers, featuring an array of cutting-edge technologies. A full-width MBUX Superscreen dominates the dashboard, offering up to three displays powered by the advanced Unity game engine for real-time graphics. A panoramic glass roof, adorned with 158 illuminated stars, creates a distinctive ambient-lit interior, with an optional "starry sky" lighting system that synchronises with the vehicle’s mood lighting.
The intuitive MBUX system also integrates voice assistance powered by ChatGPT, allowing for conversational commands and intelligent features. Furthermore, in-cabin entertainment options include the ability to stream content, such as Disney+, directly to the passenger display.
