Mercedes-Benz India will showcase the Concept CLA Class, G580 with EQ Technology, and Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680 ‘Night Series’.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an exciting lineup for the Auto Expo 2025, set to showcase its future electric vehicles and ultra-luxury models under the banner of the "Arena of Desire." The German automaker says its pavilion will highlight its vision for the future, blending performance, innovation, and sustainability across various segments.
At the forefront of Mercedes-Benz’s showcase is the Concept CLA Class, a design prototype heralding the next generation of the CLA lineup, expected to launch in 2026. Built on the brand-new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA), this concept car measures approximately 4.6 meters in length and is equipped with 21-inch wheels.
With its minimalist design, the Concept CLA has Mercedes-Benz’s modern aesthetic while maintaining signature elements like the long hood, and short-boot profile. Inside, the concept features an expansive "super screen" dashboard that consolidates most controls into a sleek, digital interface. The interiors currently reflect a strict four-seat layout, though the production model may include a traditional rear bench for enhanced practicality. While specifications remain under wraps, the MMA platform is designed to support a variety of body styles, including EVs, sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, with the latter likely carrying the "A" moniker in their names.
Mercedes is also debuting the G580 with EQ Technology, an electrified version of the iconic G-Class. This all-electric SUV retains the rugged charm of its internal combustion engine (ICE) predecessor while integrating advanced EV features. It boasts a 470 km range, a 0-100 kmph sprint in under 5 seconds, and a top speed of 180 kmph.
The G580 introduces innovative features like "tank turns," enhancing its maneuverability, alongside the expected array of luxury amenities. Mercedes plans to launch the G580 in India on January 9, 2025, during an event outlining its EV and ICE roadmaps for the year. Pre-bookings opened on July 9, 2024.
Rounding off the lineup is the EQS Maybach SUV 680 ‘Night Series,’ a special edition of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship electric luxury SUV. This model features an all-black exterior and interior, elevating the exclusivity of the Maybach experience.
Apart from these, the Indian arm of the German carmaker will also showcase AMGs like AMG SL 55 4MATIC+, AMG S 63 S E Performance, and LWB E-Class in its E450 4MATIC AMG Line at Hall No. 4 at Bharat Mobility Show on January 17 onwards.
