Mercedes CLA EV India Launch Tomorrow: Expected Price & Details

The Indian luxury electric vehicle market is bracing for a brand new player as Mercedes-Benz prepares to launch the all-electric CLA. Slated for April 25 debut, the CLA EV is expected to be a volume driver for the brand. We project an aggressive pricing strategy to maintain dominance in the entry-level luxury space, with an expected price range of ₹55 lakh to ₹65 lakh (ex-showroom).

This pricing positions the CLA EV as a premium alternative to the BYD Seal while undercutting the Kia EV6. It will be brought to India as a CBU, with the base CLA 200 variant likely starting around ₹55 lakh, while the feature-rich CLA 250+ could reach ₹60 lakh.

The CLA EV is the first model to utilise the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), a platform engineered for maximum efficiency. The powertrain is expected to deliver a punchy 268 bhp. It also comes with a unique 2-speed auto transmission.

Range anxiety is addressed via a massive 85.5 kWh battery pack, capable of delivering a staggering 750 km to 792 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Furthermore, its 800V electrical system supports ultra-fast DC charging, allowing drivers to recoup nearly 400 km of range in just 20 minutes.
