Mercedes-Benz has introduced its first-ever Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 to the Indian market at ₹2.25 crore (ex-showroom, India) marking a significant milestone as the brand's first-ever fully electric offering under the Maybach nameplate. Based on the Mercedes EQS SUV, the Maybach EQS 680 comes as a fully loaded model, meaning it includes all of Mercedes' top-tier features.
The EQS 680 is offered in two configurations: a five-seat model and a more exclusive four-seat version designed for the highest level of comfort. The four-seat variant comes with a rear seat package tailored for maximum luxury. This package includes reclining seats, advanced entertainment options, and Boss Mode. This feature allows the left-rear seat occupant to extend their seat and enjoy increased legroom, all controlled electronically.
The front row of the EQS 680 is dominated by a 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that stretches across the dashboard. This touchscreen display integrates all essential controls, entertainment, and navigation features. Both front seats offer hot and cold massage functions and electrically adjustable seating and steering wheel controls, enhancing driver and passenger comfort.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 is powered by a 122 kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors. These motors deliver an output of 649 bhp and 950 Nm of torque. The vehicle also comes equipped with Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
With a claimed range of 611 km on a full charge, the EQS 680 is built for long-distance journeys. It also supports 200 kW fast charging, allowing it to gain up to 300 km of range in just 20 minutes.
Currently, the Maybach EQS 680 faces no direct competition in India, as it is the first of its kind in the luxury electric SUV segment. However, future competition could come from other high-end brands such as Bentley, Rolls Royce, Range Rover, and BMW, all of whom are expected to make strides in the ultra-luxury electric vehicle market.
