In addition to the ex-showroom price increase, MG has also raised the BaaS subscription price from ₹2.90 per km to ₹3.10 per km.
MG Motor has updated the Comet EV's prices for the second time in a year, with variant-wise prices going up by as much as ₹15,000. The update comes on the heels of a May 2025 price hike by up to ₹36,000. The updated revision also impacts the cost of battery rental through MG's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program.

In addition to the ex-showroom price increase, MG has also raised the BaaS subscription price from ₹2.90 per km to ₹3.10 per km. While the raise may be seen as small, at ₹200 more for every 1,000 km, this is something that could add up in the long run for heavy users. This move increases the total running cost of the vehicle to customers who choose the battery rental option over buying it outright.

With consecutive price increases and a new battery subscription charge, the total expense of owning the MG Comet EV has increased. Although it is still one of India's cheapest electric vehicles, the margin between the Comet and competitors such as the Tata Tiago EV and Citroën eC3 is reducing. For buyers dependent upon the BaaS strategy, the rise in operating expenses might impact long-term ownership choices.

Notably, there are no mechanical upgrades or performance enhancements with this price adjustment. The Comet EV maintains its electric powertrain and urban-focused size, with no announced range, charging speed, or power output improvements.
The MG Comet EV continues to provide a small, loaded-up package suitable for urban use. While the latest price hikes and lack of compensating benefits or upgrades mean that value is eroding, particularly for cost-conscious buyers, introducing newer variants, incentives, or upgrades in the future could help MG keep up its competitiveness.
