MG Motor India has launched the Blackstorm edition of the Hector and Hector Plus in India with its prices starting at ₹21.25 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Like other Blackstorm editions by MG, the Hector and Hector Plus get an all-black exterior and interior theme and remain mechanically unchanged.

Like the Gloster Blackstorm edition, the Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm editions also get red accents on the bumper, tailgate and ORVMs which are available as accessories. Furthermore, the Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm editions get dark chrome accents such as the logo, grille, skid plates, tailgate and alloy wheels.
Inside, the Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm get an all-black interior theme with a beige headliner. It also gets red ambient lighting and Gun Metal Grey accents on the centre console, dashboard and steering wheel. Features on the Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm include a vertically-oriented 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, digital key and connected car tech.
Mechanically, the Blackstorm editions remain unchanged and are based on the Sharp Pro trim of the Hector and Hector Plus. They get a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 141 bhp and 250 Nm and come only with the CVT. They are also available with the 2.0-litre diesel engine with 168 bhp and 350 Nm and get only the 6-speed manual gearbox. While the 7-seat Hector Plus Blackstorm get both powertrain options, the 6-seat Blackstorm edition is only available with the diesel powertrain.

The Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm editions rival the Tata Harrier Dark Edition (₹19.99 - 26.44 lakh), Safari Dark Edition (₹20.69 - 27.34 lakh) and Mahindra XUV700’s black edition (₹21.29 - 26.99 lakh).
