Here's how the brand new MG Hector Tomahawk EV compares to the Mahindra XEV 9S and Tata Harrier EV.
India's electric SUV segment just got considerably more interesting. With JSW MG Motor India launching the Hector Tomahawk EV at a starting price of ₹19.49 lakh ex-showroom, with Battery-as-a-Service prices starting at ₹13.99 lakh, the newcomer walks straight into a fight already being waged by the Tata Harrier EV and the Mahindra XEV 9S. All three are homegrown electric SUVs vying for the same upwardly mobile family buyer, but each takes a rather different route to get there.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is 4,745 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, 1,770 mm tall, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase and 230 mm of ground clearance, giving it the longest wheelbase and the most generous clearance of the trio. The XEV 9S is 4,737mm long with a 2,762mm wheelbase, among the largest mass-market electric SUVs on sale. The Harrier EV is the shortest and lowest, but noticeably the widest.
Verdict: MG, on sheer footprint and clearance.

Verdict: Mahindra wins outright range, Tata wins outright pace with its AWD flagship, MG trails on both fronts.
Verdict: Mahindra's triple-screen cabin is the tech showpiece, but MG's gadgetry count is hard to beat for the money.

Verdict: MG, comfortably, especially with its BaaS entry point.
There is no single champion here. The Hector Tomahawk EV is the value pick, undercutting both rivals while offering seven seats and a longer wheelbase. The Harrier EV is the enthusiast's choice, with its punchy AWD flagship and sharper dynamics. The XEV 9S, meanwhile, is the sensible long-distance family car, pairing the biggest range with the most striking cabin technology. Buyers, in short, get to choose their priority — and for once, that is no bad thing.
