JSW MG Motor India is set to launch the Hector Tomahawk on August 26. It’s a seven-seater electric SUV based on the Wuling Starlight 560 and built on the brand's new ADAPT platform.

The MG Hector Tomahawk (also rumoured to be called Hector Hawk) is launching in India tomorrow, August 26, 2026. It will be the first vehicle in India based on MG’s ADAPT platform, and we could see the EV launch in the market first. It is also confirmed to be a seven seater.

MG Hector Tomahawk Expected Price

The Hector Tomahawk EV will lock horns with the Mahindra XEV 9S and Tata Harrier EV in the Indian market. It is expected to enter with an estimated ex-showroom price tag between ₹20 lakh and ₹28 lakh, depending on the variant.

MG Hector Tomahawk Expected Specifications

Derived from the global Wuling Starlight 560 SUV (pictured below), the Hector Tomahawk is expected to be powered by a single 69.2 kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor setup. This powertrain generates a peak output of 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque, yielding a claimed driving range of up to 530 km on a single charge under CLTC standards.

Visually, the SUV will feature a closed-off front grille flanked by sleek LED headlamps with distinct H-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and a sculpted front bumper. The side profile will be characterised by large alloy wheels, protective black wheel-arch cladding, body-coloured door handles, and a high roofline culminating in an integrated tailgate spoiler. At the rear it could come with clear-lens LED taillamps, a split-tailgate layout, and silver bumper inserts for a rugged finish.

The cabin will adopt a minimalist dual-tone theme enhanced by leatherette upholstery across the dashboard. Central to the driver-centric layout will be a massive 12.8-inch floating touchscreen display that integrates physical switchgear for climate control and seat ventilation alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Safety equipment on the Hector Tomahawk is expected to be extensive, anchored by a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Complementing the active safety suite are a 360-degree camera setup, front and rear parking sensors, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
