The MG M9 will be available only in 12 cities in the beginning
JSW MG Motor India's second car in its MG Select premium dealership is going to be a luxury MPV. It’s called the M9 and the company calls it a Limousine. We though stick to calling it a luxury MPV as the MG Select dealerships will cater to a niche audience and price point. The M9 will definitely be a competitor to the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Velfire but it will have the distinction of being the only EV in that segment.
The MG 9 was first showcased last year as the Mifa 9 at the 2023 Auto Expo and now it’s all set to be launched in the country. The MG 9 will come with a 90kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 430km. It’s boxy in terms of looks and design and you cannot ignore that you see a bit of ‘Kia’ influence in that design. But MG is bound to make it more tech heavy.
The company states that the MG 9 will come with 8 massage modes in the ottoman seats and the 3-zone climate control. It will also come with a touchscreen panel on the handrail. There’s three row seating as well.
Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, “It is the epitome of comfort and refined luxury for those who wish to immerse themselves in the world of elegance. We envision a future where luxury mobility is a norm, and M9 is a step in that journey.”
The MG 9 will only be available in 12 cities in Phase 1 of the company’s expansion of the MG Select dealerships. Both the Cyberster and the MG 9 will be the first 2 cars to be retailed out of the MG Select dealerships.
