Upon launch, the MG Majestor is expected to be priced upwards of ₹40 lakh (ex-showroom).
JSW MG Motor is gearing up to launch its new flagship SUV — Majestor — on February 12. The carmaker has already shared a couple of teasers of the burly SUV on its social media handles. As the launch draws closer, MG has dropped another teaser of the upcoming Majestor First showcased at the Auto Expo last year, the Majestor has been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions over the past few months.
Based on the Maxus D90 platform, which is manufactured and sold in global markets including China and Australia, the upcoming Majestor shares its platform and mechanical components with the existing Gloster but features a different exterior design and a completely redesigned interior.
The exterior design of the MG Majestor is characterised by a new front grille with vertical slats, split LED headlamps integrated into the bumper, and vertically stacked daytime running lights positioned near the bonnet line. At the rear, the SUV features connected LED tail lamps spanning the full width of the tailgate.

Plastic cladding on the wheel arches as well as the lower sections of the doors and bumpers enhances its off-road-ready appearance. Additional styling elements include 19-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust finishers, side steps, and robust skid plates at both the front and rear. The tailgate is finished with Majestor badging, complemented by the full-width connected rear lighting setup.
The Majestor’s cabin was not showcased at last year’s Auto Expo, though it is expected to share a broadly similar layout with the Maxus D90. The India-spec Majestor is likely to be equipped with a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a similarly sized digital instrument cluster, and a three-spoke steering wheel paired with a column-mounted drive selector stalk.

Positioned above the Gloster in the brand’s line-up, the Majestor is expected to offer a more comprehensive feature list. By comparison, the Gloster is equipped with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker audio system, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, and a driver-seat massage function.
In terms of safety, Majestor is expected to offer Level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Powering the MG Majestor is expected to be a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 213 bhp and 479 Nm of peak torque. In the Gloster, this engine is mated to an eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system, a drivetrain combination that is likely to be carried over to the Majestor as well.
