MG Motor Expands PM 2.5 Air Filters Across All Models Amid Rising Festive Season Pollution

JSW MG Motor India has announced that all its vehicles now come equipped with advanced PM 2.5 air filters as standard features. The company's entire range, including the Astor, Gloster, Windsor, Comet, and ZS EV, is now fitted with these filtration systems. The MG Hector goes further with a PM 2.5 air purifier that includes an inbuilt Air Quality Index display.

The move makes air filtration available across MG's complete portfolio for the first time. Previously, the Hector was the only model in MG's lineup offering a dedicated air purifier with the AQI display feature. The new standard fitment means customers across all price points in the MG range now have access to this technology without needing to opt for specific variants.

PM 2.5 refers to fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns. These particles can bypass the nose and throat and reach the lungs, causing health concerns. MG's PM 2.5 air filters are designed to trap between 95 and 99 per cent of these harmful particles, including dust, smoke, soot, pollen, and bacteria.

The Hector's air purifier features an activated carbon filter that removes pollutants, allergens, and odours. The integrated AQI display provides real-time updates on in-cabin air quality, offering occupants visibility into the filtration process.

The move aligns with how other manufacturers have positioned air filtration across their ranges. Hyundai offers its Auto Healthy Air Purifier across the Venue from the SX(O) variant onwards and the Creta from the SX variant onwards. Kia provides similar systems in the Sonet from the HTX Plus variant, whilst the Carens offers air purification from the Luxury trim level.

Tata Motors has integrated air purifiers in the Nexon from the Fearless variants, with the Harrier and Safari receiving the feature from Adventure Plus variants onwards. Mahindra has made air purification available in the XUV700 from top-spec variants, equipped with the company's Smart Filter Technology. The Thar ROXX also receives air purification, though this is reserved for higher trim levels.
