MG Motor India has announced a strategic partnership with Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) to enhance the EV infrastructure in India. As a part of this collaboration, MG and HPCL will install 50 and 60 kW DC fast chargers at various locations across the country.
The new fast chargers will be set up at key locations such as highways and cities. MG said these chargers will be compatible with all EVs that use the CCS 2 charging standard. MG customers can find these chargers on the MyMG app while others can discover these chargers via the HPCL network. Furthermore, customers will be getting loyalty benefits and exclusive promotions to encourage electric mobility.
Rajdip Ghosh, Chief General Manager, Highway Retailing, HPCL, said, “HPCL has a nationwide network of 22000+ Fuel Stations and is committed to a sustainable future by providing green fuel to the customers. Furthermore, HPCL aims to install 5000 electric vehicle charging stations by December 2024. Through this partnership with MG Motor India, HPCL shall leverage the vehicle base of MG to increase the utilisation of its chargers installed across India. HPCL will analyse charger usage to improve customer experience and strategic expansion in EV Charging infrastructure at places.”

Our partnership with HPCL is yet another step to expanding the EV charging infrastructure in India to energize and enhance customer confidence in EVs.”
MG Motor India has collaborated with Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Jio-BP to set up charging infrastructure at various locations across the country. Furthermore, MG has also partnered with Adani TotalEnergies and Epsilon Group in a bid to improve charging infrastructure as well.
