Motorola Edge 50 Pro Confirmed to Launch With Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

Motorola has confirmed that its new flagship smartphone, the Edge 50 Pro, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The phone is slated to launch in India soon and could debut on April 3.

Motorola has revealed some key details about the Edge 50 Pro's display. The Edge 50 Pro is shown to have a curved pOLED display with slim bezels and a centrally-located hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. It features a 6.7-inch screen with FHD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. The display is Pantone-validated, claiming to provide accurate and life-like colours. It also supports HDR10+ and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

Under the hood, the Edge 50 Pro is powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, as per the teaser shared online in China. It will likely be available with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage options.

The Edge 50 Pro will boast a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50MP primary camera. It will also include an ultra-wide camera with 50x hybrid zoom and a telephoto lens. Motorola claims it will be the world's first phone with a Pantone-validated camera.

Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and Android 13 out-of-the-box. The Edge 50 Pro should debut on April 3 as Motorola has an event scheduled in India on that day. It will be available in Black, Purple and White colour options.
