Contrary to our previous beliefs, the Italian marque MV Agusta has unveiled its most extreme supersport creation - the F3 Competizione. Based on the same strong points and platform as the F3 RR, with the new ‘Competizione’ suffix, the F3 is now lighter, more powerful, and has a much more fine-tuned body design that will help riders ace the track. It retains its distinctive side-mounted winglets that help generate 8 kg of downforce at 240 kmph – and while the 798 cc, three-cylinder engine remains the same, it’s Euro 5+ compliant, plus coupled with that new track-only Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, it produces 160 bhp at 13,500 rpm, which is 5 bhp more than the F3 RR.
The main focus here was to make the bike lighter. MV Agusta achieved that equipping the bike with 3 kg lighter carbon wheels, lighter frame and body panels, and a 3 kg lighter lithium-ion battery MV Agusta has managed to save 14 kg over the F3 RR which already leading the standard with a kerb weight of just 173 kg.
This massive weight reduction has helped the F3 Competizione with an astounding power-to-weight ratio of 0.9. Further helping with weight reduction in the bike are Ohlins’ latest NIX30 43mm USD forkand a TTX36 rear shock with remote adjustment capability. A 19-stage adjustable Öhlins steering damper completes the Swedish performance trio, reducing weight by 1kg compared to the standard Marzocchi setup in the F3 RR. The braking system maintains its premium status with four-piston radial Brembo callipers and 320mm discs, now complemented by cooling ducts integrated into the carbon front fender.
The F3 Competizione features sophisticated electronics managed by a six-axis IMU and a new ECU. Riders can choose from four riding modes and eight-level traction control, while enjoying standard cruise control through ride-by-wire throttle management. The ABS offers rear-wheel deactivation in Race mode, with optional launch control available.
Each MV Agusta F3 Competizione comes with a track kit including a non-homologated Akrapovič exhaust, bike cover, fibreglass seat cover, and numbered certificate of authenticity, confirming its status as MV Agusta's most focused track weapon. As for its price, it is expected it will cost somewhere between £34,000, which roughly converts to ₹30.97 lakh.
