Does this ₹ 2 lakh electric cruiser deliver significant value?
EV startup mXmoto has expanded its offerings in India with the launch of the M16, a cruiser-style electric motorcycle. Priced at ₹ 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom), the M16 becomes the company's most expensive electric two-wheeler, positioned above the MX9 launched last year.
The M16 has classic cruiser aesthetics. It features a stepped single-piece seat with a pillion backrest. Its metal body rests on a split frame chassis, similar to that of traditional cruiser motorcycles.
M16 packs features like all-LED lighting with an adaptive headlamp, a digital instrument cluster with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, and cruise control. Additionally, it has hill-start assist, reverse assist, park function, and brake regeneration.
While specific battery details remain undisclosed, mXmoto claims a range of 160-220 km and a 0-90% charging time under three hours. The 4 kW BLDC hub motor delivers 140 Nm of peak torque at the wheel.
The M16 rides on 17-inch wheels with telescopic fork upfront and adjustable twin shock absorber at the rear. Braking is handled by dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear which is kind of an overkill and seems unsafe without ABS.
On paper, the mXmoto M16 might be boasting some great bits but the reality of it could be far from ideal. We would urge you to go first and have a look at the bike before putting down your hard earned money for it as for the asking price, you could get something more established and versatile, like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V or the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
