Apart from a family scooter Ather will also launch a more premium 450 version next year
Tarun Mehta, the Co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, has verified their ongoing development of a family electric scooter designed for the Indian market. The recently spotted electric scooter, draped in black and white camouflage seems to be the prototype that has been tested on public roads. It is scheduled for launch in 2024. Additionally, Ather has also announced its plans towards another scooter based on the 450 series. More information about it at the end.
Take a look at the tweet by Tarun Mehta, CEO of Ather Energy.
Time for a family scooter.... and more!

After spending a decade perfecting the Ather 450, we now believe that there's demand for something more.
So many folks love @atherenergy as a brand but want a bigger, family-oriented scooter from us. That's why we're gearing up to launch…
Spy images that were seen a few days prior, reveal a sleek design for the family scooter, featuring slim headlamp and tail lamp units. The inclusion of a grab rail and a spacious, broad seat indicates ample space for both the rider and pillion. Adding to the convenience, there is a side step for the pillion and a flat floor, facilitating easy storage for the rider. Positioned as a competitor to the TVS iQube, Ather is ensuring affordability for their upcoming family electric scooter. This makes sense as the Ather 450 series is a sporty scooter and that has kind of limited its appeal among electric scooter buyers. With the new family scooter, Ather can expand its sales further.

Ather Energy is also working on another scooter which will be based on the 450 series. It's an upgraded version and it will be priced at a premium. Ather 450S is priced at Rs ₹ 1,29,460 and the 450 X gen3 is priced at ₹ 1,37,508. This pricing is more expensive than other electric scooters in the Indian market. They are well-built, perform excellently, and comes with great features. This new scooter is focused towards the enthusiasts and could be the quickest Ather scooter to go on sale. We expect the transparent panel to make a debut on this model. It is slated to launch early in 2024.
