Bentley has announced that the fourth-generation Continental GT will be unveiled on June 25. While the design of the new Continental GT has been under wraps, Bentley has already revealed its powertrain details.
The new Continental GT will get a hybrid powertrain with an unspecified V8 engine mated to an electric motor and combined, it will produce 771 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. Furthermore, it will have an electric-only range of up to 80 km. While this isn’t Bentley’s first hybrid model, it is the first hybrid model to get a V8 engine. The Bentayga and Flying Spur hybrids get a V6 engine.

Bentley has also upgraded the chassis of the Continental GT as it now gets torque vectoring with its all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential, 48V active anti-roll bars and new dual-valve dampers.
The new Continental GT has achieved a new “unofficial underwater speed record”. It achieved a top speed of 335 kmph in the Ryfylke Tunnel in Norway, which is the longest subsea road tunnel in the world.

While the fourth-generation model is under heavy camouflage, it looks quintessentially like a Bentley Continental GT. The overall profile is similar to the previous model with an almost identical-looking glasshouse. Up front, the fourth-gen model will be the first Continental GT to not have a quad-headlamp design. The back, however, seems more similar to the previous model. Overall, it seems Bentley has opted for a more evolutionary design language with the new Continental GT.
The first-gen Continental GT debuted in 2002, with the second and third-generation models launching in 2010 and 2018, respectively. Bentley also mentioned that the Continental GT will achieve its 100,000th production milestone next year.
