New BMW X3 Leaked Ahead Of Debut

The latest offering from BMW, the 1 Series, may have just debuted, but another model is on the horizon: the next G45 X3. A promotional photo of this new SUV was unintentionally posted on an official BMW website and has since circulated widely online. The image reveals the X3’s fresh design, heavily influenced by the larger all-electric iX. Notable features include prominent angular fender flares, smooth body side surfaces, an upswept window line, and chrome door mirror spars.

The front showcases BMW's updated design language with triangular headlights featuring L-shaped daytime running lights, flanking a large double kidney grille with vertical and diagonal slats—a styling element first seen on the new 1 Series. Additionally, the front sports a split air intake outlined with a U-shaped metallic strip, complemented by vertical inlets on the bumper.

A charging port on the left front fender and an "E" number plate suffix indicate that this is a plug-in hybrid model, likely the successor to the xDrive30e and expected to be named the X330e under BMW's new naming scheme. This model is rumoured to have a total system output of around 296 bhp and an all-electric range of up to 100 km.

The lineup will also include various 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder models, such as the xDrive30 (possibly the X330) with approximately 276 bhp, likely enhanced by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. Higher up in the range, there will be the M50 (potentially the XM350) powered by a 385 bhp, B58 3.0-litre straight-six engine, as well as the top-tier X3 M (possibly the XM3).

The introduction of the G45 X3 will mark the end of the G01 model, which recently received a Final Edition in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the electric iX3 is set to be discontinued after one generation, with its successor to be built on the innovative Neue Klasse architecture, previewed by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept.
