New Generation KTM 790 Duke And 790 Adventure Spotted Testing

Mattighofen is up and running, and while KTM has started to clear its pending stocks and launches, it has also started working upon its long-term projects. The first of this lot is the next generation KTM 790 Duke and 790 Adventure. Both were spotted in prototype stage being tested in real world conditions – thus confirming plans that KTM will bring back the 790 cc machines after they were discontinued from global markets, with the new KTM 890 Duke and 890 Adventure. 

What’s New With The 2025 KTM 790 Adventure And 790 Duke?

The KTM 790 Adventure prototype was sporting the headlight stack design from the KTM 390 Adventure. But the KTM 790 Duke was spotted with a different design that looked more on the lines of the 890 Duke. The engines of both are expected to undergo thorough revisions, all in order to address some of the quality issues from before. With the new engine will come a revised exhaust outlet, and the silencers in both the bikes have also been revisedGone are the 790 Duke’s infamous banana-styled exhaust, and in comes a butch more sporty looking silencer. The 790 Adventure also gets the same — as far as the prototypes are concerned.

Hardware Changes?

KTM has retained the double-sided swingarm from before. The usual USD fork and monoshock setup has also been retained, but the tuning for the same is expected to change a bit. The upcoming KTM 790 Adventure also boasted a single fuel tank at the front of the rider, instead of the twin-fuel tank design that extended down both sides of the bike. This might help with the centre of gravity, which in turn might improve the ride quality significantly.

Launch Timeline

These are still early stage prototypes and the bikes aren’t likely to hit production anytime soon. Our guess is that the duo might hit the roads by late 2027 at the earliest and Bajaj might also bring these to our shores later.
