Indian Motorcycle has released the launch date of its upcoming new Scout cruiser to April 2. This is the first major update the bike will receive ever since 2014, and the announcement was accompanied by a teaser video on YouTube. Although the teaser doesn’t reveal any part of the bike, the upcoming Scout is expected to receive subtle design tweaks and updates to its engine.
The aesthetic tweaks will not alter the bike’s overall, low-hung cruiser silhouette of the bike. So, elements like the teardrop-shaped tank, curved fender design, and the round headlight design will more or less remain the same.
Mechanically, the Indian Scout will continue to be powered by a V-twin engine, however, the engine displacement might increase from the current 1,133 cc configuration. In the current iteration, the Indian Scout produces 95 bhp and 97 Nm, and it is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Feature-wise, the Indian Scout will host a bunch of modern-day features like an all-LED headlight, Bluetooth Bluetooth-connected instrument cluster.
Post the debut of the new Indian Scout, the same is expected to make its way to India later this year. Currently, the Indian Scout is available in four variants and it is priced between ₹18-₹19 lakh. In this price range, the Indian Scout will have the Harley-Davidson Sportster S as its sole competitor which is priced at ₹15.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
