The BE 6 is likely to get a dark edition, which could be called the Shadow Edition.
Independence Day on August 15th is a big deal for Indians and Mahindra & Mahindra too. So much so that for the past five years, the brand has been showcasing new products and concepts. This year is no different, as there’s a slew of new products lined up. One such is a new variant of the Mahindra BE 6, which will be showcased/launched in India on August 14th.
A teaser shared by Mahindra doesn’t show a lot of details about the car but vividly indicates that the BE 6 is likely to get a new dark edition, which, in all possibilities, could be called the Shadow Edition. The teaser shows a blacked-out BE 6, lurking in the shadows. As is, the BE 6 doesn’t come with a lot of shiny elements – only the front and rear skid plates and alloy wheels.

What the Shadow Edition could introduce is a darker cabin for the BE 6, like Mahindra has done with other black editions of its models – XUV700 Ebody and Scorpio N Carbon. This new dark edition could remove the green on the seats and dashboard with black. But this could be a problem, as one of the biggest issues with the BE 6 is the lack of sense of space in the rear seats.
The BE 6 is offered in five variants – Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three. The Pack One, Pack One Above and Pack Three Select come with a 59 kWh battery exclusively, while the Pack Three is solely available with the larger 79 kWh battery pack. Only the Pack Two gets both battery pack options.
Rivals for the BE 6 include the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV and MG Windsor Pro.
