Maruti Suzuki will introduce the all-new Dzire in the country either in the last week of October or the first week of November. Although media reports suggest the company will launch the new Dzire on November 4, we expect Maruti to launch its upcoming subcompact sedan on either October 31 or November 1. The new Dzire is now in its fourth generation, and rivals the likes of the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and even the Honda Amaze.

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to be based on a reworked version of the Heartect platform, which also underpins the new Swift launched a few months back. Moreover, we also expect Maruti to employ the new Z-series, Z12E petrol engine on the Dzire, which is the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine with similar output figures of 80 bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque, coupled to both a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT unit. Earlier, the Dzire developed 89 bhp and 113 Nm from the 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated K-series petrol engine.
Visually, the new Dzire will receive a major overhaul in the styling department with sharper lines all around, at least from the spy shots that we’ve seen. At the front, expect the new Dzire to receive a unique six-slat grille, contrasting with the Swift's signature honeycomb pattern, and sleeker headlamps featuring horizontal DRLs adding a sharper, more contemporary look to the subcompact sedan. Expect the new Dzire to also receive redesigned front and rear bumpers, with a fresh design for the alloy wheels. At the rear, expect the new Dzire to receive a revised tail lamp design and a modified design for the boot.

On the inside, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will source several features from the new Swift, which includes a 9-inch touchscreen with the SmartPlay Pro+ system for the top-spec versions while the lower trims will get a 7-inch unit. Wireless connectivity for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and even a wireless charger is expected to be part of the features list for the top-spec variants. We also expect Maruti to employ an Arkamys sound system on the higher trims along with a start-stop, and keyless entry.
Safety will be a key factor with the new Dzire. Since it will be based on an updated Heartect platform, expect a higher crash test result from Bharat NCAP. Sources have also told Acko Drive previously, that Maruti will extensively use high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel in its structure to make it more robust than before. 6 airbags, ESC/ Electronic Stability Control, and ABS with EBD, are expected to be part of the standard fitment. Other features like 3-point seatbelts for all the passengers, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill-hold assist, and seatbelt reminders for the front and rear passengers are also expected to be standard on the Dzire, similar to the Swift.
