The new Dzire is offered in four trims: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+, and seven colour options for the vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki will launch the much-anticipated 4th generation of its popular subcompact sedan, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, in India today. Known for its fuel efficiency and strong market presence, the Dzire has long been a top choice in the Indian subcompact sedan segment. To top it all off, the new Dzire also scored 5 stars for adult occupant protection and 4 stars for child occupant protection in the latest round of crash test results by Global NCAP. The latest model is expected to attract considerable attention with new design elements, enhanced features, and high fuel efficiency. The new Dzire is offered in four trims: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+, and seven colour options for the vehicle, including Gallant Red and Alluring Blue among them.

The new Dzire is the first Maruti to score 5 stars at Global NCAP.

One of the standout aspects of the 4th generation Dzire is its updated design, which moves away from the look of the Maruti Swift hatchback, on which previous generations were heavily based. The revamped Dzire presents a sleeker, more refined aesthetic, drawing comparisons to models like the outgoing Honda Amaze. This marks a significant design shift for the Dzire, with its enhanced proportions and premium styling lending it a more substantial road presence than its predecessor.

The interior of the Dzire has also been updated, featuring a lighter colour palette compared to the Swift, which aims to create a more spacious and airy cabin experience. Maruti Suzuki has retained some interior elements from the latest Swift, maintaining a balance of familiarity and sophistication within the cabin design.

The new Dzire is 3995 mm long, 1735 mm wide, and 1525 mm tall.

Fuel efficiency has always been a hallmark of the Dzire, and the new generation continues this legacy with impressive mileage figures. The Dzire in its petrol manual version returns 24.79 kmpl while the AMT version returns 25.71 kmpl. The Dzire CNG on the other hand, returns 33.73 kmpkg.

The Dzire continues to adhere to India’s sub-4-metre compact car classification, with dimensions of 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,525 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2,450 mm, while ground clearance is noted at 163 mm.

In terms of cargo space, the petrol variants of the Dzire offer a boot capacity of 382 litres. Maruti Suzuki has yet to confirm the boot space available in the CNG variant, but the addition of a CNG tank is likely to reduce the effective cargo area.

The kerb weight of the new Dzire varies across different variants, ranging from 920 kg to 960 kg for the petrol models and between 1,020 kg and 1,025 kg for the CNG models. Gross weight ratings are 1,375 kg for petrol models and 1,435 kg for the CNG versions, reflecting a slight increase to accommodate additional safety and convenience features.
