As the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire gears up for its November 11, 2024, debut, the subcompact sedan is already making headlines as the first Maruti Suzuki model to secure a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. This milestone underscores Maruti’s progress in safety and quality standards as India’s largest car manufacturer ventures to meet the growing demand for safer, high-performance vehicles.

The 2024 Maruti Dzire will be available in four trims: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+, giving buyers a range of options. While exact pricing is yet to be announced, the base variant is expected to start near the current model’s entry-level price of ₹6.56 lakh, with the high-end ZXi+ potentially reaching ₹10 lakh. This pricing strategy is aimed at keeping the new Dzire competitive within the compact sedan market.
Powering the new Dzire is the Swift’s Z-Series 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. The lineup will also include a CNG variant for those seeking alternative fuel options. The Dzire CNG version offers a slightly lower power output at 69 bhp and 102 Nm of torque. Transmission options include both manual and automatic (AMT) gearboxes, with Maruti Suzuki claiming impressive fuel efficiency figures: the petrol manual and AMT versions are rated at 24.79 kmpl and 25.71 kmpl, respectively, while the CNG option delivers up to 33.73 kmpkg.
Maruti Suzuki has refined both the exterior and interior design of the Dzire for 2024. The compact sedan features a dual-tone black and beige interior with fabric seat upholstery in the lower trims, while the top-end ZXi Plus variant includes a premium 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys sound system, leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, and a 360-degree camera. Additional features such as cruise control and a coloured multi-information display (MID) make the ZXi Plus trim especially attractive to buyers seeking enhanced comfort and functionality.
The 2024 Maruti Dzire represents Maruti Suzuki’s strategic shift toward a more secure and feature-packed lineup, catering to a growing segment of Indian consumers prioritizing safety alongside efficiency and affordability. The new Dzire’s emphasis on comprehensive safety measures, robust performance, and flexible fuel options aims to solidify Maruti Suzuki’s position in the competitive Indian market while aligning with global safety expectations.
