The recently surfaced spy shots reveal several exterior features of the Kylaq.
Skoda Auto India has confirmed the name of its third vehicle based on the MQB-A0-IN platform: the Kylaq. This upcoming subcompact SUV is expected to debut early next year, entering one of the most fiercely contested segments in the Indian market. Recent spy shots have provided an early glimpse of some of the car’s features, giving potential buyers an idea of what to expect from Skoda’s latest offering.

The recently surfaced spy shots reveal several exterior features of the Kylaq. One of the key highlights is the single-pane electric sunroof, which is likely to be a significant selling point in this segment. Additionally, the images suggest that the model will be offered in a red paint scheme, while at least part of the taillight design will feature a clear lens setup. Other notable design elements include roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, slightly raked C-pillars, and a tailgate-mounted number plate holder.
Earlier teasers have already confirmed that the Kylaq will sport a split headlamp design, new LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and inverted L-shaped LED taillights. These features are expected to give the SUV a distinctive look, setting it apart from its competitors.

The SUV is likely to be powered exclusively by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine. This motor is expected to produce 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, delivering power to the front wheels. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic, which should cater to a broad range of buyers.
The Skoda Kylaq will face stiff competition in the subcompact SUV segment, going head-to-head with established models such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. This segment has seen significant growth in recent years, making it critical for Skoda to deliver a compelling product.
