The next-gen Hyundai i20 is likely to make its debut in India sometime next year and is expected to be priced a little higher than the present model.
Hyundai is working on a new-gen i20 that has already been spied testing on a few occasions previously. Earlier spy shots have shared glimpses of its exterior, however the latest set of leaked images also provide a glimpse of its interiors as well. The latest images come from Scandinavia, where the test mule is currently undergoing cold-weather testing in snowy conditions.
On first glance, we notice that the interiors of the new Hyundai i20 is in line with the second-generation Venue that was launched in India in November 2025. The biggest takeaway is a new curved twin screen on the dashboard housing the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system. The other big change is a new steering wheel design with the new ‘H’ letter in Morse code as seen in the recent Hyundai launches.

The layout of the centre console has also been revised. We also see redesigned door compartments and new front seats that are wrapped in fabric upholstery and have thick side bolsters and adjustable headrests. In terms of features, the new-generation i20 could offer a 360-degree camera and ADAS functionality, similar to the Venue.
On the outside, the heavily camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Hyundai i20 reveals LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) and hints at a redesigned grille. The alloy wheels sport a new dual-tone, star-pattern design. At the rear, the car features a sharply raked windscreen, LED taillamps and a high-mounted stop lamp.

Hyundai is expected to carry forward the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol as the current model which is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox. This engine produces 87 bhp and 114.7 Nm of peak torque. The sportier i20 N Line will get the more potent 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that kicks out 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque.

This motor can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Last year, Hyundai announced plans to introduce eight hybrid models in India. The new i20 is expected to be one of them.
