The Nissan Tekton has been spotted undisguised for the first time, revealing key elements of its rear design.
Nissan is preparing to mark its formal re-entry into India’s highly competitive compact SUV segment with the upcoming Tekton. Ahead of its official unveiling scheduled for July 9, 2026, the vehicle has been captured completely undisguised out in the open during an apparent commercial media shoot. This latest leak provides the clearest look yet at the production-ready styling of the vehicle.
While components like the glasshouse outline, rear wiper assembly, and top windscreen are carried over from its Renault sibling, the Tekton features a distinct LED tail lamp signature. The rear styling is rounded off by a prominent roof-integrated spoiler with an embedded brake light, a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, roof rails, and a different rear bumper incorporating a silver faux skid plate.

Up front, official teaser campaigns from the brand indicate that the vehicle drops the crossover styling elements of past models in favour of an upright stance inspired heavily by the brand's legendary global flagship, the Nissan Patrol.
The front end is defined by a large, rectangular front grille featuring horizontal chrome slats, C-shaped or inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights, a slim full-width front light bar, and an imposing high-set bonnet line that also displays localised model branding along its leading edge. The vehicle is expected to ride on dual-tone 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels housed within squared-off wheel arches wrapped in rugged protective body cladding.
Under the bonnet, the Nissan Tekton will leverage three distinct powertrain configurations to appeal to different market demographics. The baseline option consists of a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating approximately 100 bhp, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. For those seeking higher performance, a more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit will be offered, pumping out roughly 162 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
Nissan also plans to introduce a 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain later in the vehicle's lifecycle, combining an internal combustion engine with dual electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack.
Expected to carry an introductory price range stretching from ₹10 lakh to ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tekton will enter one of the country's most fiercely contested automotive battlegrounds, squaring off directly against heavyweights such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, and a lot more.
