Nissan Motor India has officially launched its flagship SUV, the X-Trail, in the Indian market, priced at ₹49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The new X-Trail, now in its fourth generation, competes with other premium SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster. Globally introduced in 2021 and facelifted in 2022, the X-Trail has been highly anticipated in India, with bookings starting on July 26 and deliveries commencing this month.

The X-Trail features a distinct exterior design, including split LED headlamps, 20-inch machined alloy wheels, front door-mounted ORVMs, LED taillights, silver roof rails, an integrated spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, a rear wiper and washer, and contrast-coloured skid plates. Notably, the SUV is equipped with a tyre puncture repair kit instead of a traditional spare wheel.
This three-row SUV is offered in three colour options: Pearl White, Diamond Black, and Champagne Silver. It measures 4680 mm in length, 1840 mm in width, and 1725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2705 mm and a ground clearance of 210 mm.

Inside, the X-Trail offers a range of advanced features aimed at enhancing comfort and convenience. These include a three-spoke steering wheel, a fully digital coloured instrument console, paddle shifters, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, a wireless charger, various drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control.
For safety, the SUV is equipped with a surround-view monitor, seven airbags, second-row seats with a reclining function, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), front parking sensors, traction control, and a limited-slip differential.
Powering the 2024 Nissan X-Trail is a 1.5-litre variable compression turbo-petrol engine, which is paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system. This setup produces 160 bhp and 300 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT transmission. The company claims a mileage of 13.7 kmpl, with the SUV capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.6 seconds.
