Nothing Phone 3a Series Leak: Expected Features, Specs, More

London-headquartered Nothing, known for its distinctive smartphones, is preparing to expand its product portfolio. Recent leaks in Nothing OS 3.0's Android 15-based builds have unveiled key details about the company's upcoming devices, including its mid-range and budget offerings, says a report by Android Authority.

Internal codenames discovered in the software suggest three new devices are in development. The codenames "asteroids," "asteroids_plus," and "galaga" appear to correspond to the Nothing Phone 3a, Nothing Phone 3a Plus, and CMF Phone 2, respectively, according to benchmark data, the report added.

Analysis of the software builds further suggests that Nothing is making new hardware choices for its upcoming devices. The Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Plus are expected to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, while the CMF Phone 2 will use a MediaTek chipset.

Perhaps the most exciting revelation is the potential camera configuration for the new devices. 

Leaks suggests the Nothing Phone 3a will include a telephoto lens, while the Phone 3a Plus may feature an advanced periscope zoom camera. This would mark a significant departure from Nothing's previous devices, which typically offered wide and ultra-wide camera combinations. If confirmed, these would be the first Nothing phones to offer dedicated optical zoom capabilities.
